Erotic Picture Make Men Want to Take a Big Risk
Jakarta, The man known impressionable women. Not only responding quickly things smell erotic, men can also be losing my mind when looking at erotic pictures. That is why on-site casino, the owners display super sexy women to lure men are more daring to risk his property.
Researchers from Stanford University have found that when men view images of erotic, a brain area associated with the hope of stimuli. This causes a man willing to take greater risks than they can afford.
The study, published in the journal NeuroReport uses fMRI brain scans to track brain changes when participants looked at photographs of positive, negative or neutral. Participants were then asked to quickly make the decision to choose one of two risks in gambling.
The researcher, Brian Knutson, suggesting that fMRI can be used to predict whether the person will take the risk or not. When taking a risk, a brain area called the nucleus accumbens showed increased activity. When choosing to avoid the risk, a different area called the insula showed an increase.
Knutson and his colleagues studied heterosexual male students. Photos of men are shown to stimulate an emotional response, erotic photographs are used to stimulate a positive response, pictures of snakes and spiders to ask for a negative response, and photographs of office supplies to trigger a neutral response.
After viewing each photograph, participants were asked to decide whether to choose a high-risk gambling or choose low-risk gambling. Regardless of the choice, they have a chance of winning or losing are equal. Knutson give every person U.S. $ 10 for the gambling capital before entering the fMRI scanner.
"We want them to really consider it. Depending on the capabilities and results of random gamble, they could win or lose. We take the money back if they lose," said Knutson.
"When looking at erotic pictures, activities in the area of the nucleus accumbens increased compared with other stimuli. Increased activity in the area before choosing to do high-risk gambling," Knutson said as quoted altpenis.com, Thursday (26/01/2012).
The researchers then apply statistical analysis to determine whether the activation in the nucleus accumbens affect some particular behavior. It turns out that activation of a positive effect on the stimulation. After looking at erotic pictures, participants tend to be more frequent high-risk gambling.
These findings clarify anything that may cause emotional appeal to be effective or not effective in advertising, political campaigns, and gambling.
"In the casino, mostly women wearing skimpy costumes, were given alcohol for free, plus accessories bells, lights and things that seem unrelated to gambling. All of this can activate brain regions that encourage people to take risks, so as to make people gamble more and again, "said Knutson.
