TV More Heart Dangers Than Computer


Jakarta, Relax, relax in front of the television (TV) and computers make people less active, so the heart is more often problematic. But if both are compared, watching TV is considered more harmful to heart than the main computer.

In a study at the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, the scientists revealed that the energy required is very low when watching TV. Even though the same sitting, the energy needed while watching TV is smaller than when playing the computer.

Moreover, the habit of watching TV tend to be more unhealthy than when playing the computer. If in front of both hands busy playing computer mouse and keyboard, in front of the TV only need one hand to hold the remote control while his other hand free.

Hands-free is what is sometimes trigger unhealthy habits, ie eating, snacking on sweet or salty foods. Sugary foods can cause a buildup of calories that trigger diabetes, whereas salty foods can cause high blood pressure.

"The message to be learned from this research is, limit the time children spent in front of the TV," said Valerie Carson, one of the scientists who conducted the study as quoted from Medicalnewstoday, Tuesday (12/20/2011).

Behavior of laziness or sedentary behavior such as watching TV and playing computer the whole day was a threat to heart health. Lack of physical activity can lead to obesity, and lead to complications in heart and metabolic systems.

Diseases associated with heart and blood vessels is now one of the most major causes of death worldwide. Number of cases is increasing, especially in developing countries who are experiencing changes in lifestyle and eating habits dramatically.
