This He Criteria Employees Vulnerable HIV Infected

Jakarta, Infectious Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is most prevalent in the productive age group, including among workers. Employees are most vulnerable to contracting HIV is the male employees who are often out of town and a lot of money.

HIV transmission is actually very rare in the workplace, except for really serious accident that involves contact with blood or other body fluids. Even so employees can be infected while outside the office, for example on the way out of town.

"We do not have data types of jobs are most vulnerable to HIV infection but to watch is the Mobile Man with Money or 3M," said Dedi Adi Gumelar of Norma Directorate Occupational Health and Safety, Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration in a press conference at the Ministry of Health, Sunday (25/12/2011).

Mobile man with money or moneyed men whose work is sedentary workers serve as the criteria which have a higher risk for contracting HIV. Ministry of Labor said employees are most vulnerable to the criteria included in the chain of transmission of HIV.

Employees with the criteria of 3M dikaregorikan susceptible HIV transmission for the following reasons:

1. Mobile (Moving)
Certain types of work require the employee to sedentary work, or settle in seatu place far from family and sexual partners. In an emergency, the employee is potentially use the services of sex workers to satisfy the lust making it more vulnerable to contracting HIV.

2. Man (Male)
In Indonesian society that adheres to the patriarchal system, men tend to be more dominant in taking the decision to have sex. For this reason, male employees are considered more vulnerable to HIV infection than female employees.

3. Money (Lots of money)
Mutually sex partners need capital are not small, because the sex workers also have a tariff to be paid by the customer. Therefore, the money helped determine the assessed risk of HIV transmission to male employees who move around the workplace.

Meanwhile, Director of Direct Transmitted Disease Control (PPML) Ministry of Health, Dr. HM Dawn, MMPM notes that the money does not always determine a person's risk for contracting HIV. He confirmed that the North Coast region (Pantura) Java, truck drivers whose income is not much too vulnerable to contracting.

"Like it, like they (Kementeran Manpower and Transmigration) is yes, would make the 3M criteria. There is a criterion that makes 4M, 5M, and so on but clearly we need to give attention to karwayan who works away from family," said Dr. Dawn.

1. Workers transport and shipping
2. Workers mining, oil and gas
3. Construction workers
4. Plantation workers
5. Workers who is based near the localization (hotspots).
