Naked Feet can run Faster

Jakarta, Some people would rather do without wearing jogging shoes. The benefits are diverse, you can run them faster and feels more healthy. But apparently it is also at risk of injury to your foot.

When running barefoot, legs and soles of your feet move differently so that when you perform unusual movements when belari then it can stretch your muscles and tendons.

"If you're going to make changes, then make no later and carefully as possible," said Paul DEVITA, PhD who studies biomechanics at East Carolina University.

Later ran barefoot becoming increasingly popular. Many say this type of run is more natural. Plus a growing number of companies that make shoes footwear 'minimalist' is lighter and does not bind the feet too hard.

The researchers also tried to observe this claim. One study revealed that 12 people who ran on a treadmill for 6 minutes in a state of bare feet and 6 minutes using a shoe to show the very real differences between them.

When wearing shoes, runners do not breathe as hard as when not using footwear. His heart was not beating as fast as when running with bare feet, even when wearing shoes, runners do not feel secapek when not wearing them.

Joel R. De Paoli, MS lead when a physiological experiment in the San Francisco State University. He also revealed that the runners will move more efficiently when using a shoe as the heel hit the ground first so that impede the movement of the leg forward.

"There's a lot more likely you will gain a foothold ahead of you when running with bare feet," said De Paoli as reported by WebMD, Monday (11/06/2012).

In the other study in the Adrian College in Adrian, Mich.. involves a number of professional runners to try Vibram Five Finger shoes Bikila. This function is the same shoe with a glove. These shoes are intended to simulate running barefoot while providing protection.

The result, the runners are asked to run as far as a mile it took 7.17 minutes when wearing Vibram Five Finger shoes, but it takes 7.36 minutes while wearing a traditional running shoe. The researchers also calculated that the weight of shoes only accounted for 18 percent of the difference in speed.

While the third study showed that some runners may be injured when it was first practiced without the use of shoes. Through the survey on the internet, 18 of 109 runners who reported having made changes in bone or muscle injury. Even the 16 runners were injured at the bottom of his feet.

"I see a lot of pain in the calf and tendinitis," says researcher Allison Altman, PhD. He also documented many runners whose feet had blisters.

"But not everyone assumed would be better if it ran without wearing shoes," said Christel Kippenhan, PhD who studies biomechanics at Benmidji State University, Minnesota who was not involved in these studies.

Run a different style might work better for different people, he added. But it also depends on body weight and other factors runners who have not been shown by researchers. "I think we need more research to support it," he concluded.
